ATM machines are everywhere and provide us with convenient access to money and services. Unfortunately at the same time, ATM theft is on the rise as criminals get bolder and more organized. The most common way criminals use to break into an ATM machine is to use a cutting torch, or even to dig them out of the wall directly with heavy machinery. Police forces and banks constantly have to review their security and look at new ways to upgrade their systems.
System Requirements
A security company, who has a banking client, wants to secure their ATM machines from intrusion and theft. They were looking for a reliable GPS tracking solution that could be placed directly inside the ATM machines but with additional sensor features. The bank wanted to detect temperature and motion for cases where the entire ATM machine gets stolen. In these circumstances the device would detect movement and temperature changes and start real-time tracking, sending out location data and triggering alarm alerts to the bank and the police. The customer chose ARKNAV's R-9 GPS tracker for is size, rugged enclose and wide-temperature operation. They tested R-9 for several months and found it solid and reliable, which was one of the most important requirements. R-9 has a motion sensor built-in and ARKNAV helped integrate a temperature sensor inside so now they can react faster and have the possibility of retrieving their machines if they are taken away.
